shalinivadhera_1.jpgConcealers are of a denser composition than regular foundations and are generally available in sticks, tubes, pots, and creams. Concealers can be used to cover blemishes, dark spots, ruddy areas, marks, veins, freckles or under eye circles.

Put a small amount on your fourth fingertip and dot it on, moving from the outside corner of the eye inward, and back out again. The most important and easily overlooked place to put concealer is the inner corner of your top lid. Put a bit slightly below your dark circles to avoid the raccoon-like look.

Choose a concealer appropriate to the color and type of blemish you wish to hide. Concealer is a creamier foundation makeup with added pigments intended for specific parts of your face

Apply in the inner corners of the nose by the eyes and only the areas under the eyes that are dark. By using the brush you are able to place product only where it is needed. A more precise application is the result.

Couple of tones lighter than the skin is good. A concealer in the yellow/olive/orange tonal range does a great job counterpoising dark areas. For raised scars use a little darker shade of concealer as compared to your natural skin tone while lighter shade is for crenelated scars. Set with loose powder. To cache broken capillaries, you need a yellow-based concealer with a high pigment level and pointed fiber brush for precise application.

To prevent the concealer highlighting a problem you’re trying to hide, apply a light moisturizer as an undercoat. Allow It to soak in and then dab away any excess with a tissue. This will make the skin soft and more even to work on. For extra staying power, once you have applied concealer, especially over pimples, set with a light dusting of sheer powder. If concealed areas dry out and start to flake throughout the day, gently pat on a small amount of moisturizer.

Gently patting as you go, apply moisturizing eye cream about one inch below the eye. Remember cream “travels up”, so don’t place it too close to your lower lid. Give it a minute to absorb. Next, lightly place a small bit of concealer directly over the area. You can use a small, square, flat concealer brush or you can dot it on with your finger. Blend with a soft touch, adding a hint more moisturizer if necessary for a more translucent finish.

Apply a light covering of makeup foundation to the skin to blend in with the concealer. You can also use a little water blended in with the makeup to also help the concealer to set. When a concealer sets, it is less likely to smudge or bleed into your face makeup.
