If you bought a lipstick shade you hate, don’t throw it out. The big trend in lipsticks these days is blending several shades. Mix and match lipsticks and glosses to find your perfect blend. Blending works with different lipstick formulations: You can layer a matte with a shimmery stick then top it off with a colored gloss.

For a sheer, natural finish dip your finger in water, then into pink or red Jell-O powder; rub over lips and top with balm to create an amazing stay-put shade. You can also try layering a clear gloss over a lip stain. Look for one that is not watery. They will bleed less.

The nude bare lip looks can be obtained by using neutral pink lip color that matches your skin tone. Pale colored women can go for light orange color with a pinkish tint while olive skin can use brownish bronze shade. Avoid lip liners as you don’t need the harsh lines. Add clear gloss to the center of your lip and you are ready.

Keeping your mouth-closed trace a fine line around the lips with a sharp pencil. A blunt pencil will make blending more difficult. Start at the v of the top lip and move outward to lip corners by making short strokes (rest your hand on your chin for better control). After you have penciled in the top lip, begin from the middle of the bottom lip and move outward also. Follow the natural lip line.

The purpose of using a lip pencil before applying lipstick is to create a barrier that keeps the oil from the lipstick on the lips instead of feathering above and below.

If the surface area of the lipstick tip is too wide, don’t risk going outside the lines by applying directly from the tube. Instead, use a brush or your finger. Using your finger also allows the lipstick to be used more as a stain, which will have the same color as the lipstick but not appear as thick. Dab on a very thin coat and then add a little lip balm in the center — it’ll almost look like a “just-bitten lip,”

To avoid lipstick on your teeth, after application, run your index finger through the middle of your lips and pull it back out. The excess will come off on your finger, not your teeth.
Dry cracked lips are not something that you want this summer. It’s easy to get your lips ready for summer with just toothbrush and a little Vaseline. Brush the lips gently and the be sure that you don’t ingest any of the product.
Try blending with other shades - There’s nothing worse than buying a shade of lipstick, taking it home and finding out it looks awful. If you don’t like a particular shade, try blending with other colors for a more suitable match.
To make lips look larger follow the outer edge of the natural lip line making sure not to go over the natural lip line. To make lips look smaller follow the inside of the natural lip line.
