Makeup is essential in women life. It is must for every woman. The breed of women is of many types like short, tall, slim, fat or extra slim. Skin color also varies like white, whitish, toned or black. The variety list may go long but one thing is common and that is every woman needs makeup. So the question arises, do all the woman needs same type of make or something else. While application of makeup is concerned, it widely varies according to skin color and body type. So what type of make suits to a given skin color is a definite requirement to know.

Foundation

For your make-up, you should choose liquid foundations, instead of a creamy one. Dark skin can tend to look oily because of the way light reflects on the skin. That is why it is better to choose a water-based foundation. The foundation should not be lighter than your skin tone. Try to get one, which is as close to your normal skin color as possible. When you apply foundation and powder, your aim should be for a lighter coverage. Remember that dark skins show up layers of make-up much more than fair skins.

Applying Lipstick

Choose lipstick with matte finish rather than frosted ones. The shades should not be too dark or too light. Medium dull shades would look best. Bright pinks or reds are an absolutely NO! If you have dark lips, before applying lipstick, put some foundation and powder on your lips.

Applying eye makeup

Almond brown or copper tinged mascara/moistened eye shadow works well with most dark skin persons and a hint of a metallic shade at the end of the eyelashes adds to the glamorous touch for an evening out.

Avoid white or very light colors. A soft brown eye shadow can be used in combination with a darker brick-brown. Apply the light brown on the upper eyelids. Use the dark brown in the crease of the eyelid to give depth to the eyes and carry it out slightly outwards. This should blend into the upper brow bone, proceeding from lighter brown in the inner corner to darker brown, going outwards.

Blusher
For blushing use colors like coral, rose and deep orange. Avoid brown and peachy shades. For very dark skin shades of bronze, plum and wine are suggested. Blend the blusher over the cheekbones as it brightens the skin color. For very dark skin, try a dark rose pink color for the day and shades of bronze, plum and wine for the night. Blend the blusher over the cheekbones, as it helps to brighten the skin tone.
